BACKGROUND

World Environment Day is a day for everyone, everywhere. Since it began in 1972, global citizens have organized many thousands of events, from neighbourhood clean-ups, to action against wildlife crime, to replanting forests. Beating Plastic Pollution, the theme for World Environment Day 2018, implores us to get outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that we share.

PROLOGUE

The Environ Monitor (Leading Environmental Journal of Pakistan) and National Foundation for Environmental Education & Research have planned National Conference on Beating Plastic Pollution on 28 June 2018 (0800-1500 hours) at Lahore.

OBJECTIVES

·       To provide professional platform for dissemination of the latest researches, practices & techniques about environmental management, Nature, natural resources and plastics through presentations, discussions and case studies.

·       To create environmental awareness about health & environment among the stakeholders at individual, community, national, regional and global levels.

·       To dovetail religious motivation in bringing prosperity, happiness, inter-faith harmony and peace in the society.
